A month away from the primary, Henry Rizzo is trying to push a gift to big labor through the County Legislature. It’s not surprising that Rizzo is working against the best interests of the taxpayers – it’s just surprising that he’s trying to do it now, in the midst of an election it looks like he’s losing.
Is this labor’s last fling with Henry Rizzo, before the real Crystal Williams whips him in the primary?

I believe you and I agree on wanting to get rid of Rizzo.
Do you honestly believe Crystal is leading him in the polls?
I hope so, and have done my small part. I am just a little concerned for some reason.

I doubt anybody has paid for a scientific poll in this race. I’ve heard rumors that Pat Gray got a fat check to work for Henry in the race, which, if true, would be wonderful news for Crystal. Pat Gray appears to be an electoral money sponge – you can’t pump enough money into him to actually get any work out of him.
Clearly, Rizzo has name recognition, but he pushes the limits of the maxim that “there’s no such thing as bad publicity.” He’s known, but not admired by anyone – even his supporters are with him because of what’s in it for them. Also, the fake Crystal Williams trick backfired big time – he helped her with exactly what she needed, name recognition.
Crystal has been out pounding the pavement, showing up at events, and I believe she will have enough money to do some effective mailings. I think she really has the lead.
